"A Touch of Gold" 5" x 7" oil on Board

Finally getting back to painting!   I have been ill for 4 weeks now and had not felt much like painting.  I did a quick couple hour painting, so very much impressionistic which is quite fun.  I call it, "A Touch of Gold".

"Fruit of our Labors" - 9" x 12" oil on Board

Today's painting.  I don't know what to call.  Any suggestions?  I still may work on the face a bit.  Still trying to get in creative brush strokes.

Orange County Fair Acceptance!

Yeah!  Just delivered the 4 paintings that have been accepted into the Orange County Fair.  This is exciting because they accepted my old traditional style paintings and the new impressionistic style I have been trying.  The use of the palette knife has been helpful.

"Enthusiasm" - 5 x 7 inch Oil on Hardboard

Orange roses are a mixture of red and yellow roses and have a high level of energy encircling them.  Maybe it's the color,  the resemblance of the sun or warmth of a glowing sunset.  They are often associated with passion, excitement and enthusiasm.  This rose has a glow about it and was accomplished by glazing.

"Bridge at Toketee Falls"

One of my favorite places to go - in winter, spring, summer and fall.  This is the bridge you first see when starting your hike into Toketee Falls in Oregon.  The snow is fresh and the green moss is of lime green.  What a contrast in colors.  The fall brings many different colors to the area.  One day I will paint the fall in Toketee Falls.

"Mending the Foal"

5 x 7 inch Original Oil on hardboard
by Terry Ann Stanley

I just loved the idea of these two brothers, the older brother showing the younger brother the ropes of the trade. I chose the colors to enhance the highlights and bring focus to the center. Miniatures have been a challenge when it comes to the fine details. Leave the caffeine alone or the details become harder to accomplish.

"Yellows - Violin and Sunflower"

5 x 7 inch on hardboard
by Terry Ann Stanley

My childhood violin. Would love to start playing it again, but it is in bad shape and painting it will suffice for now. The harmonica is a little easier to carry around.

I was trying some yellows out in this picture. I have a larger painting I started but have not had the motivation to finish. This smaller version has given me some incentive.

"Temple of Love" at The Huntington

12 x 16 inch Original Oil Painting
by Terry Ann Stanley (www.terrystanleyart.com)

The Huntington Library has always been a favorite of mine and the challenge of painting a statue has always been a challenge I have wanted to pursue. Now that I have been approved to paint on the grounds, I have many statues to choose from. This statue has been one of my favorites.

I was able to complete this within a day.

I plan on creating more art at this fabulous Gallery and Gardens.
